Media Sales Opportunities

Media Sales, Sales Management and Publishing, is our core business. We have been recruiting in this market since 1981. We spent a great deal of time analysing our clients needs and then we spend even more time isolating candidates key transferable skills, so as to match the right candidate with the right role.

We operate in every market in media sales, using our vast experience to give you the best advice for making your next move.

Ken Lathane, who came from a media sales background at Haymarket, has had 30 years recruitment experience.

Ken Lathane’s main claim to fame is that he is the ex classified manager of Campaign and was the launch classified manager of Computing, all in the seventies. Since then, he has helped countless people and companies with their recruitment needs.

Direct Marketing

We work for a wide variety of organisations with a need for professional, client facing personnel with either experience in the field or who are possibly working in media sales but are looking to move in to this fast moving and expanding marketing discipline.

There is a constant need for well trained sales, account management and business development people where a consultative approach to sales, excellent presentation and relationship building skills are rewarded with above average salaries and commission packages, especially when compared to media sales roles at the same or similar levels of seniority. We also tend to work for companies that promote from within wherever possible, so career progression is a real possibility.

Exhibition Opportunities

Patrick Gerrish looks after our successful dedicated exhibitions and conference department was established in 1997 to service the ever-growing events industry, actively recruiting sales and marketing professionals.

With regular advertisements in Media Week and Event magazine plus a proactive approach, we are in regular contact with and recruit for most of the major organising companies.

Entry Level Opportunities

CLA can open the door for you to a wide range of opportunities within the media and media-related industries. The common factor of these positions is sales.

The typical vacancy for an entry level would be with a London-based publishing company producing a business or consumer magazine - with a salary of up to £18,000 plus a commission structure ranging from £4,000 to £8,000.

To fill positions like this we are looking for individuals with strong, persuasive personalities, superior oral and written skills, and the tenacity and determination to succeed.

As a successful candidate, you'll find yourself working in an energetic environment, receiving first-class training, with the prospect of rapid promotion. For an entry level contemplating a career in sales within publishing or exhibitions the possibilities are endless.
